4th Kup Theory
Belt colour
Red belt signifies danger, cautioning the student to exercise control, and warning the opponent to stay away.

At this stage you should constantly be reminding yourself of previous theory. Here, the stances you should know are summarised:

Walking stance - Gunnun sogi

Sitting stance - Annun sogi
-
L stance - Niunja sogi

Two vs. one sparring - Idil matsogi
Generally this isn't tested at this grade, but it can be difficult so it is important to practice. It is exactly like free sparring except with two opponents. Fighting two people at the same time is near impossible, and so the objective is to keep one opponent between the other at all times in order to only have to only have to deal with one at a time. Then, you can demonstrate your technique by performing a devastating blow to each of them (but stop short of contact).
Grading syllabus
The following techniques form part of your grading requirements, and the examiner may ask you to demonstrate some of all of these, as well as anything from previous gradings:
-
Pattern Joong Gun.
-
One step sparring. Ibo matsogi.
-
Free sparring. Jayu matsogi.
-
Breaking. Weeryok.
-
Reverse turning kick. Bandae dollyo chagi.
-
Any previously failed kicks (left/right).
-
Choice hand technique (forefist, elbow, knifehand etc.).
-
